A major outcome of the project is a comprehensive review of methods used to analyze impacts of transgenic crops on farmers and consumers in developing economies, industries and trade, combined with a recommended set of broadly applicable tools, and a web bibliography designed particularly for developing country researchers. Case study research confirmed that the institutional and policy context is more important for successful diffusion of new agricultural technologies than its performance in on-farm trials. A second phase would permit the case study teams in the Philippines and Honduras to continue building capacity in their respective regions through training courses
